10 Effective ways to improve Employee’s productivity

Every organization wants to improve their employee’s productivity and lead them towards organizational goals. Generally, the entrepreneurs may face some difficulties to engage employees and hence increase the productivity. Here is the list of steps the organizations can use to improve efficiency, workplace environment and increase ROI:

Design Economic incentives for employees at different level:

The most important thing is that the employees should be satisfied financially. It has potential impact on their productivity and interest to do their jobs. In general, management has more focus on senior-level economic incentives, but they don’t have to neglect considerable incentives for lower-level employees.

Provide meaningful feedback:

It is the basic role of a manager to provide helpful feedback to employees in a way that can motivate them towards the organizational goals. It does not mean that the feedback would be positive all the time but the communication need to be done thoughtfully without any discouraging words.

Respect Each and Every employee:

Whether it’s a higher or lower level employees everyone needs to be respected within the organization. It’s a powerful motivator and when the employees feel respected then eventually their productivity increased.

Provide adequate Training:

Every employee should receive the required training to get their job done as well as can make more improvement. Generally, the organizations invest heavily in “leadership training” and have less focus on middle managers and supervisor’s level training. Training is also important for the lower level employees.

Recognize and reward employees:

Recognition is more powerful motivator than money and has indicated by many studies conducted on employee’s productivity. It may not be true at senior level but highly important for lower level employees. Keep rewarding employees for their achievements is more effective way to make them happy and satisfied.

Allow freely use of Internet:

Some organizations have strict rules for the use of internet due to the fear that the company’s resources might be misused. But it is not true because the employees can work more efficiently if they allow to use internet freely in ways not expected by the employers.

Consistently measure employee’s Productivity and activity:

You need to keep records of employee’s performance in order to get clear idea what needs to be improved and how much the productivity increased as compared to the last month/years. Recording usage of applications and websites can help the organizations to keep track of the productivity levels.

Set goals and use results to provide assistance:

The current state of the company needs to be identified and then the rules and expectations should be set accordingly. There should be regular check-ins about progress and goals by the managers so they can identify the areas where employees are struggling and provide them the required assistance.

Treat everyone equally:

If the employees do not treat equally then it may create worst environment and may ruin the overall functions of the organization. Favourism amongst employees can be the most discouraging and resentful. When the employees treated fairly then they become more satisfied, fulfilled and productive.

Make employees part of the big picture:

Keep employees aware of the company’s happenings and guide them the course of the company, as it can make them feel valuable and respected hence improve the efficiency and productivity. Try to increase their participation and appreciate their ideas.
